Aram I congratulates Lebanon’s new president on election

YEREVAN, JANUARY 11, ARMENPRESS. Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I has congratulated Joseph Aoun on his election as President of Lebanon.

The Catholicosate’s press service said Aram I welcomed Aoun’s election. 

Aram I emphasized that Aoun’s election opens a new chapter in Lebanon’s modern history.

In a letter to the new President, the Catholicos expressed hope that a new process of restoration and revival will commence with his election after the hardships that Lebanon withstood over the course of the past years.

Aram I said that the Armenian Apostolic community will support the new president in all works contributing to the restoration of Lebanon. The Catholicos said he plans to meet Aoun soon.
