Pashinyan reiterates Armenia’s support for Lebanon’s territorial integrity

YEREVAN, JANUARY 10, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has congratulated President of Lebanon Joseph Aoun on his election.

“On behalf of the people of Armenia, I am cordially congratulating you on your election as President of the Republic of Lebanon. I am sure that in this period full of challenges Lebanon will rediscover the path of stability, peace and prosperity under your leadership. Armenia and Lebanon have rich traditions of friendship based on the close historical-cultural ties and mutual respect between the two peoples. I reiterate Armenia’s support for Lebanon’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of borders. I assure you that Armenia will continue to support international efforts for the establishment of peace in Lebanon, particularly through active participation of the Armenian peacekeeping contingent within UNIFIL. I believe that through joint efforts we can further deepen and develop the mutually-beneficial cooperation both bilaterally and multilaterally for the benefit of our countries and two friendly peoples. Taking this occasion, I extend wishes of good health and success to you in your responsible mission, and lasting peace and progress to the brotherly people of Lebanon," Pashinyan said in a letter addressed to President Aoun.
