Israel strikes Hezbollah positions in south Lebanon

YEREVAN, JANUARY 3, ARMENPRESS. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on January 2 that it struck Hezbollah positions in the south of Lebanon, The Times of Israel reports.

IDF said it hit areas used by Hezbollah to launch missiles. 

The Israeli military added that it had requested the Lebanese military to neutralize those positions and the strike was delivered after failure to do so.

On November 27, 2024, Israel and Hezbollah reached a truce. According to the terms of the ceasefire, the Israeli army will gradually withdraw from Lebanese territory and reserves the right to strike Hezbollah fighters if deemed as a threat. However, incidents involving exchange of fire have been taking place since.
