Armenia-African Union cooperation discussed in Addis Ababa

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 21, ARMENPRESS. At the headquarters of the African Union (AU) in Addis Ababa, Ambassador of Armenia to Ethiopia Sahak Sargsyan presented his letter of credence to Moussa Faki Mahamat, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), assuming his duties as the Permanent Observer Representative of Armenia to the AU.

The Chairperson congratulated Sahak Sargsyan, wishing him success during his tenure. Ambassador Sargsyan stressed that Armenia attaches special importance to advancing its relations with the AU and its member states by enhancing its engagement in the continent, the foreign ministry said in a readout.

The sides exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation emphasizing the importance to collaborate in the implementation of sustainable development goals and AU’s Agenda 2063. New areas of potential partnership and collaboration were identified.
