YEREVAN, DECEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS. The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia has confirmed the validity of the signatures submitted as part of a petition by a civic initiative that seeks to initiate parliamentary debates on launching a process of joining the EU.
According to the Central Electoral Commission, the number of valid signatures amounted to 52,351.
By law, any petition seeking to enter parliament for consideration must garner at least 50,000 signatures.
The Central Electoral Commission said that organizers of the petition observed the verification process.
