4,400 forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh granted citizenship of Armenia

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 29, ARMENPRESS. A total of 6,338 people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh have applied for citizenship of the Republic of Armenia, and so far, 4,400 of them have been granted citizenship, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Armen Ghazaryan stated during a discussion in the National Assembly on issues related to forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to him, minors are not included in this count because, after their parents acquire citizenship, they automatically obtain it by law through the process of passport issuance, and there is no need to undergo an additional citizenship acquisition procedure.
