YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 29, ARMENPRESS. Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin has said that Moscow is committed to the entire circle of its treaties with Armenia and doesn’t abandon its obligations in the military-political sector.
“Moscow remains committed to the whole circle of its treaties with Armenia, both bilaterally and as part of the Eurasian union,” RIA Novosti quoted Galuzin as saying at the Russia-Armenia Second Public Forum. “We don’t abandon our obligations towards our allies, including in the military-political sector,” Galuzin said.
He added that Russia has been developing for many years the security architecture in South Caucasus.
He said Russia’s role will always be demanded in this issue given the dynamic situation in the region and globally.
“We are ready for sincere and substantial conversation with Yerevan over this urgent topic,” Galuzin said.
Galuzin also added that Moscow is working to transform the 3+3 regional platform into an organization.
The idea of the 3+3 platform for regional cooperation was brought forward by Turkey and Azerbaijan after the 2020 Nagorno Karabakh war and was supposed to include Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and Iran, however Georgia repeatedly refused to participate. It is still, however, referred to as the 3+3 platform. The third meeting was held in October 2024.
