YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Minister of Healthcare Anahit Avanesyan has met with Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi within the framework of the Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Science, Technology and Applications and the Technical Cooperation Programme in Vienna.
The sides discussed the ongoing and future programs implemented with the Armenian healthcare ministry as part of the IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme.
Minister Avanesyan lauded the growing cooperation with the IAEA in the direction of Armenian capacity building in oncology and thanked for the many years of support provided by the IAEA to the National Center of Oncology, which gave cancer patients access to a number of complex services.
Avanesyan presented the investments and work carried out by both the government and the private sector in the oncology sector over the course of the past years.
Director General Grossi lauded the Armenian government’s attention and healthcare efforts in the direction of capacity building and reiterated the IAEA readiness to continue support and enhance partnership.
