Russia’s Matviyenko plans Armenia visit

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko plans to visit Armenia in 2025, according to a senior Russian lawmaker.

“We expect Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matviyenko’s meeting to take place in Armenia next year,” Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Yuri Vorobyov told reporters in Yerevan. Vorobyov is the co-chair of the Armenian-Russian interparliamentary commission.  “She has received the invitation. And we are preparing that visit and we hope it coincides with the interregional forum, which is regularly held biennially. We are preparing, the cooperation is proceeding, in my opinion actively. I am sure we will solve all issues,” he said.

The visit will take place either in the first or second quarters of next year, he said.

Vorobyov also said that the next meeting of the interparliamentary commission of the two countries will take place in Sochi and will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in WWII.
