Pashinyan asks several high-ranking officials to resign

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Monday he has asked several government officials to resign.

PM Pashinyan issued a statement following the resignations of Supreme Judicial Council President Karen Andreasyan and Anti-Corruption Committee President Sasun Khachatryan. Several other high-profile resignations will follow, according to media reports.

“Dear countrymen, given the extensive debates in the media and social networks, I think it is necessary to inform you that I have asked a number of high-ranking officials to resign. The reasons for asking them to do so are not personal, but systemic, which I have publicly talked about.  At the same time, I can’t deny the contribution that our abovementioned colleagues have had in the development of our statehood and I am grateful for their contribution and for understanding my request,” Pashinyan said on social media.
