YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. Russia is ready for open dialogue with the United States if such an initiative comes from Washington after Donald Trump’s reelection, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a news conference following his working visit to Kazakhstan, Tass reports.
"We have never rejected contact with anyone. Russian President Vladimir Putin stresses our position every time the topic is raised. Talking is always better than getting isolated from each other," Russia’s top diplomat said, when asked if there are plans to maintain communication with the new US administration.
"We’ll see if there are any proposals, and I reiterate that it was not us who broke off relations and it’s not up to us to suggest reviving those. If there is an initiative to sit down and have a frank conversation about where we are standing and how we should move forward, without any unilateral demands, we will be ready for that," Tass quoted Lavrov as saying.
