Armenia does not find '3+3' format appropriate for negotiations with Azerbaijan

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 23, ARMENPRESS. There is no proposal on the table to use the "3+3" format as a platform for Armenia-Azerbaijan negotiations. Even if such a proposal existed, Armenia does not consider it appropriate.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan made this statement during parliamentary Q&A with members of the Cabinet, in response to a question on whether the "3+3" platform could serve for Armenia-Azerbaijan negotiations.

According to Mirzoyan, that format is unsuitable, as Armenia has its own framework for bilateral negotiations with Azerbaijan, including border delimitation, the peace treaty, and the normalization of relations.

Mirzoyan added that it is a different matter when, during various multilateral events, including in the "3+3" format, ministers from different countries take advantage of being in the same place to hold bilateral meetings and negotiations. The Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers have also held discussions on that platform.

"We focused on the text of the peace agreement, aiming to achieve positive developments and bring the peace treaty closer to conclusion," Mirzoyan noted.
