YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS. On September 30, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Republic of Armenia, Michael Mavros, on the occasion of handing over a copy of the credentials.
Deputy Minister Hovhannisyan congratulated Ambassador Mavros on his appointment, expressing confidence that he would make significant efforts to enhance the existing excellent cooperation between the two countries, the foreign ministry said.
The officials noted with satisfaction the current high level of bilateral political relations, emphasizing the continuity of high-level mutual visits and contacts.
The discussion also covered the agenda of issues related to both bilateral and multilateral cooperation, including Armenia's partnership with the EU. Hovhannisyan briefed the ambassador on the Armenian Government's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative and highlighted cooperation on international platforms and opportunities for mutual support.
Additionally, he provided an overview of the security situation in the South Caucasus and the latest developments in the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
