Latvian Foreign Minister briefed on Armenia’s efforts aimed at establishing peace in South Caucasus

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS. On the sidelines of the UN GA 79th session, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Baiba Braže, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia.

The foreign ministers discussed a wide range of topics of mutual interest. 

The Foreign Minister of Armenia outlined, “We continue developing our bilateral relations with EU member states, and there is a huge potential for further cooperation with Latvia. Therefore, I was glad to discuss ways to enrich the agenda between our two countries, as well as the prospects for deepening Armenia’s partnership with the EU. We can also effectively cooperate on multilateral platforms.”

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Latvia also exchanged views on regional issues. Minister Mirzoyan presented the efforts of Armenia aimed at establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus and the importance of signing the peace treaty with Azerbaijan without creating any artificial obstacles and without undue delay, the foreign ministry said in a readout.
