Armenia has unambiguous political will to swiftly sign peace treaty with Azerbaijan, FM tells Italian counterpart

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 24, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan has held a meeting with his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani within the framework of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York City.

FM Mirzoyan and FM Tajani discussed regional developments, the foreign ministry said in a readout. They discussed the steps taken by Armenia in the direction of establishing peace in South Caucasus. 

FM Mirzoyan underscored that Armenia has clear political will to swiftly sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan and the latest proposal sent to Baku regarding the draft peace treaty was directed towards it. 

The Armenian Foreign Minister stressed that Armenia’s vision on ensuring regional stability is based on the principles of unconditional respect for territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, as well as initiatives aimed at economic interconnectivity. 

The prospects of deepening Armenia-EU partnership were also discussed.
