United and strong Diaspora is Armenia's most powerful ally - President

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 17, ARMENPRESS. The Diaspora is the wealth of our country and our citizens, with its diversity, role, and opportunities. Accordingly, the Republic of Armenia is the home and refuge of Armenians worldwide, regardless of time, authorities, or internal and external developments.

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan said during the opening ceremony of the second Global Armenian Summit, noting that such events are good opportunities to meet, address the challenges we face, and work together to find solutions.

“Every chance to engage with our compatriots in the Diaspora is crucial for understanding the issues that concern and excite us. It is also an excellent opportunity to discuss the current challenges facing our country, ways to overcome them, the reforms being implemented in various sectors, and issues related to the progress and development of our nation," Khachaturyan said.

According to the President, we are in the ceaseless course of time and events happening around us, witnessing rapid developments and changes in technology, science, communication, and even global systems.

"These changes pose new challenges and require new solutions and principles. Sometimes, it becomes imperative to revise traditional relationships and work procedures. In this context, a united and strong diaspora is Armenia's most powerful ally,''said Khachaturyan.

Khachaturyan reminded that, in meetings with compatriots from the Diaspora, he often emphasizes that they are ambassadors of Armenia to the world. They represent modern Armenia, its culture, traditions, and history, while being worthy and responsible citizens of their own countries.

The President of Armenia noted that the country is currently at a pivotal point in history, facing a period of radical changes, new relationships, and opportunities. Despite existing problems, Armenia remains committed to ushering in an era of peace.

"We have embarked on implementing comprehensive reforms aimed at strengthening democratic institutions, increasing the country’s defense capabilities, creating a competitive and attractive economic environment, establishing justice, and improving the quality of life and well-being of our citizens. These reforms are the foundation on which we are building a safer, fairer, more prosperous, inclusive, and powerful Armenia."

"Today, we face challenges that test our determination, strength, and flexibility. Your involvement is extremely important, whether through cultural initiatives, educational programs, or investments. Believe that distance cannot diminish our common bond. Your voice is heard, your actions are significant, and together we can build an Armenia that reflects our collective aspirations," concluded the President of Armenia.
