France says it will continue defense cooperation with Armenia

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. Armenia and France will continue to cooperate in the defense sector, French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné said in Yerevan on Monday.

“We will continue our cooperation in the defense sector, among others,” he said at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan. “Armenia should be able to defend its integrity, its territory, its population.”

FM Séjourné said it is natural for friends to cooperate in defense. He said the cooperation is done by respecting sovereignty and the desire to not cause escalation.

The FM said that the friendship between Armenia and France is based on very strong and historic foundation.
