Caucasus has geopolitical and strategic significance for Iran, says FM Araghchi

YEREVAN, AUGUST 26, ARMENPRESS. The Caucasus region is of geopolitical and strategic significance for Iran, the country’s foreign minister Abbas Araghchi has said.

“The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan have also congratulated me over the phone,” Araghchi said on X. “The Caucasus region has geopolitical and strategic significance for Iran.” The Iranian FM added that the historic, cultural and geographical closeness has doubled the importance of enhancing relations with the regional countries.
