Mkhitar Hayrapetyan visited the data processing center of OVIO

YEREVAN, AUGUST 5, ARMENPRESS. Today, Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, along with Deputy Minister Gevorg Meliksetyan, visited GNC-Alpha, which was rebranded in May 2024 and is now operating under the OVIO brand.

 According to the readout issued by the Armenian Ministry of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, accompanied by OVIO General Director Hayk Faramazyan, toured the company's facilities, familiarizing himself with the infrastructure and recent quality improvements.

 Hayk Faramazyan noted that with the introduction of the new brand, the company has evolved beyond being a traditional telecommunications operator. It is now offering a range of digital and cloud services, initiating the formation of a unified ecosystem of digital services.

According to the source, the minister was presented with the data processing center commissioned in May 2024. This state-of-the-art facility features modern technologies and international-level infrastructure, making it the first and largest of its kind in Armenia.

It is noted that during the meeting, discussions focused on sector-specific reforms and the potential for employing innovative cable-laying solutions. Several issues raised by telecom sector representatives were also addressed. In this context, the minister emphasized that these issues are a priority for the ministry, and steps have already been taken to address the problems. 

According to the Armenian Ministry of High-Tech Industry, OVIO provides broadband Internet, smart TV, fixed telephony and a number of cloud services.
