Acting General Director of the Yerevan Metro received Vassilis Maragos

YEREVAN, JULY 19, ARMENPRESS. Babken Sedrakyan, Acting Director General of the Yerevan Metro named after Karen Demirchyan, met with Vassilis Maragos, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Armenia.

Babken Sedrakyan presented the progress of the second stage of the 'Reconstruction Project of the Yerevan Metro,' which is being implemented with credit support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, and grant support from the European Union. The presentation of this stage will be completed in September this year. 

Babken Sedrakyan also presented to the guest plans for the further development of the metro, in particular, the use of modern technologies in underground transport, the purchase of new wagon, the reconstruction of other programs.

Ambassador Vassilis Maragos expressed the hope that European support for the development and modernization of “green transport” will be constant.

Thanking for the reception, the Maragos expressed hope that the ongoing cooperation in this area will develop further. Issues related to the opening ceremony of the drainage tunnel planned for September were also discussed at the meeting.
