Drone hits apartment in Tel Aviv, killing one, injuring several

YEREVAN, JULY 19, ARMENPRESS. A man was killed and 8 were injured in an overnight drone attack on Tel Aviv, claimed by Houthis, the Times of Israel reports.

The drone directly impacted an apartment in Tel Aviv at 3:12 a.m., after entering the city from the direction of the sea.

According to an initial Israeli Air Force investigation into the overnight attack, the explosive-laden UAV had been identified, but due to a human error, it was not engaged by air defenses. As no action was taken against the identified target — now confirmed to be a large long-range attack drone — no warning sirens had sounded, the report adds.

Yemen’s Houthis officially claimed responsibility for the attack. The Houthis’ military spokesperson says the group attacked Tel Aviv with a drone and will continue to target Israel in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza war.

The spokesman says that Tel Aviv will continue to be a primary target for the terror group “within the range of our weapons.”
