Tbilisi and Yerevan support each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty – Georgian Foreign Minister

YEREVAN, JULY 3, ARMENPRESS. Tbilisi and Yerevan greatly support and respect each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty, said Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili during a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan.

The Georgian Foreign Minister noted that Yerevan and Tbilisi have special friendly and neighborly relations, which have a history of many centuries. Darchiashvili expressed confidence that Mirzoyan's visit to Georgia will give a new boost to bilateral relations.

"It should be noted that with the signing of the declaration on establishing a strategic partnership, the bilateral cooperation has reached a qualitatively new level. This new stage was a turning point in our multilateral cooperation," said Ilia Darchiashvili.

The Georgian Foreign Minister thanked his Armenian counterpart for voting in favor of the resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly, which confirms the right of all internally displaced persons and refugees to return to Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

“Georgia and Armenia greatly support and respect each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty," the Georgian Foreign Minister said, noting that he discussed issues related to multi-sectoral cooperation between the two countries with Foreign Minister Mirzoyan.

Darchiashvili added that Armenia is among Georgia's top ten trade partners and ranks in the top three in terms of tourism.
