Armenia, Georgia agree to resume border delimitation work– Deputy Foreign Minister

YEREVAN, APRIL 11, ARMENPRESS. The governments of Armenia and Georgia have reached an agreement to resume border delimitation work, which had been halted for an extended period, the Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan has said.

“At present, both nations have revised the composition of their demarcation commissions, but a meeting has not yet taken place. Both sides are doing some 'homework'. We hope that the first meeting will not be delayed,’’ said Kostanyan.

Addressing the question about the possible handover of a territory from Armenia to Georgia within the framework of the process, Deputy Foreign Minister noted that the border delimitation will occur, the logic of which is the restoration of the borderline with all neighbors based on the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration.
