Armenia’s priority is protection of its own sovereign territory – Secretary of Security Council

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s priority is the protection of its sovereign territory, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan has said.

“The Republic of Armenia continues to protect only its own sovereign territory, and this is the priority of the Republic of Armenia,” Grigoryan said in an interview with Public Television when asked whether Armenia should get involved militarily in Nagorno-Karabakh.

“Regarding the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, first of all Russia has actions to take, because they have presence on the ground. The duty of the peacekeepers isn’t just to provide medical aid or make similar steps, but to actually ensure the safety of the Armenians living in Nagorno-Karabakh, within the framework of the 9 November statement,” Grigoryan added.
