‘One of the best competitions we’ve been to’, British coach on EWF European Weightlifting Championships Yerevan

YEREVAN, APRIL 20, ARMENPRESS. The British Weightlifting Team’s head coach Stuart Martin has said that the European Weightlifting Championships in Yerevan is one of the best competitions his team has been to.

“It’s beautiful, I really enjoyed the competition so far. I think it’s one of the best competitions we’ve been to,” Martin told ARMENPRESS.

He said that they have participated in many championships in different countries, but the 2023 European Weightlifting Championships in Yerevan is the best. “I think this has been by far the best venue, and the crowd, the environment and atmosphere, it’s been fantastic,” he added.

The British team has so far won four medals at the championships.

Martin said they hope to win a few more medals during the rest of the championship.

“We’ve obviously got Emily Campbell, one of our top athletes, and we are hoping that she will bring home some gold medals,” the coach said.
