Parliament approves higher bookmaking taxes

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. Parliament adopted amendments to the laws regulating gambling activities, introducing higher state duties for bookmakers and online gambling operators.

From now on online gambling operators will have to pay 175 million drams in state duty for acquiring license to accept 100 billion drams in bets, while bookmakers will pay 50 million drams for a license of accepting 50 billion drams in bets.

The bill passed with 60 votes in favor and 6 abstentions.

The original annual 600 million dram state duty for a license to accept bets will still be in force.
