Targeted reaction by int’l community on Azeri blockade is necessity, Armenian Defense Minister to US Ambassador

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Defense of Armenia Suren Papikyan held a meeting with United States Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy on the occasion of the completion of her diplomatic mission in Armenia.

Papikyan presented to the ambassador the situation on the frontline resulting from the latest Azerbaijani military aggression, the defense ministry said in a readout.

Papikyan and Tracy exchanged views around bilateral cooperation and a number of issues related to regional security.

Minister Papikyan presented the latest regional developments to Ambassador Tracy, particularly the closure of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan since December 12 and the resulting serious humanitarian challenges.

The need for a targeted reaction by the international community regarding the situation was emphasized.

Suren Papikyan highly appreciated Lynne Tracy’s work during her tenure as ambassador in Armenia and wished new achievements and success in her future activities.
