YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 17, ARMENPRESS. The delegation of Armenia led by Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan was hosted by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in Tbilisi, the Parliament’s press service said.
The sides congratulated each other on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, stating that the two nations are connected by common history.
Alen Simonyan said Armenia is greatly interested in the strengthening of regional security and stability, therefore, it highly appreciates Georgia’s interest aimed at preserving peace and stability in the region.
Alen Simonyan also said that Azerbaijan, continuing the expansionist policy, launched a large-scale attack on the sovereign and territorial integrity of Armenia on September 13.
As for the Artsakh issue, the Speaker of Parliament said the issue of guaranteeing the rights and freedoms of Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh, and the status of Nagorno Karabakh remain priority.
The sides discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation aimed at the regional security.
The Georgian PM said yesterday he held a warm phone conversation with Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and stated that the Armenian-Georgian relations are at a higher level now than ever. He said the evidence of this is the frequency of high-level mutual visits and the common efforts seeking peace.
