YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. The authorities of Armenia take the peace treaty negotiations seriously and express their views on it to all parties, ARMENPRESS reports, the President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan said in a briefing with journalists in the National Assembly, commenting on the statement of Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan that a war may start 12 hours after the peace treaty, if there are no international guarantees.

"The government takes it seriously and expresses its views on the peace agreement, also to the parties that are mediators for the conclusion of that peace treaty. That is why Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that there should be specific guarantees, because it is not enough to just sign a paper. Let's hope that this contract will have serious guarantees, because simply signing a treaty is not a sufficient condition," said Simonyan.

According to the President of the National Assembly, we should move forward with this logic and establish stable peace in the region.

"As you can see, despite the claims of the opposition, after two years, Armenia is negotiating quite well, and we can celebrate the victories of our diplomacy in the international arena. Such involvement by the USA, France, and Russia did not even occur during the OSCE Minsk Group format. Isn't this a victory? In my opinion, it is a very big victory from a diplomatic point of view," said Simonyan.
