No agreement on Armenia, Turkey hosting future envoy talks – MFA

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 14, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu who claimed that Armenia and Turkey have agreed to host the future talks between special envoys for normalization on their own soil, rather than in third countries.

In response to a query from ARMENPRESS, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vahan Hunanyan refuted this.

ARMENPRESS: Turkish Foreign Minister Mevult Cavusoglu said that the meetings of the special representatives of Armenia and Turkey will from now on be hosted in Armenia and Turkey. How would you comment on this statement?

Hunanyan: During the meeting in Prague no agreement was reached regarding the meeting of the special representatives for the Armenia-Turkey normalization process in Turkey or in Armenia. Various proposals were voiced, including regarding the opening of the border for diplomatic passport holders. An agreement was reached to discuss these proposals in a working procedure.
