YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 29, ARMENPRESS. 12 schools in the Gegharkunik province are still closed after the Azerbaijani aggression due to safety concerns, and over 1200 children are deprived of the possibility of going to school, the Governor of Gegharkunik Karen Sargsyan told foreign ambassadors during a meeting in Vardenis.
“Homes were destroyed in three settlements, schools and kindergartens, other civilian infrastructures were hit. 148 apartments were damaged in Sotk, 12 apartments were damaged in Kut, and 2 apartments in Verin Shorzha. 7 houses were entirely destroyed in Sotk and we have an issue of building new ones. The needs are assessed for the remaining parts, soon the transfers will be done to the residents so that they can start restoring their apartments,” the governor added.
