Int’l community must pressure Azerbaijan to prevent possible new attack – Armenian FM tells Austrian counterpart in NYC

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS. On September 20, within the framework of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria Alexander Schallenberg.

Minister Mirzoyan briefed his colleague on the details and consequences of the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia, the foreign ministry said.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia emphasized that the international community should put pressure on Azerbaijan in order to prevent possible new military aggressions and maintain the ceasefire regime, as well as withdraw the Azerbaijani troops from the sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia and return the Armenian prisoners of war.

The interlocutors discussed the possibilities of enriching the bilateral agenda and exchanged views on deepening the political dialogue and developing trade and economic ties.

During the meeting, the sides also touched upon the normalization process of relations between Armenia and Turkey.
