YEREVAN, 7 APRIL, ARMENPRESS.Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly Vardan Ayvazyandoesn’t know if Iran has ever offered Armenia to pay less than 189 dollars for 1,000 cubic meters of Iranian gas on the border. During a discussion on the conclusion of the ad-hoc committee of the National Assembly in charge of examining Armenia’s gas supply system, Deputy of the faction of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Nikol Pashinyan asked Vardan Ayvazyan why Armenia wasn’t buying gas from Iran when there are a lot of talks about Iranian gas being 15-17% cheaper than Russian gas. In response, Vardan Ayvazyan mentioned:“As far as I know, Iran hasn’t offered Armenia a price lower than 189 dollars. Let’s leave the other issues aside, including security and the strategic partnership with Russia. Iran has never offered Armenia a price lower than 189 dollars,”Ayvazyan mentioned, as “Armepress” reports.
According to Vardan Ayvazyan, if Iran offers Armenia a price lower than the price that Russia offers for 1,000 cubic meters of gas, that will be a different story.“I must also say that Russia takes customs duties for exports to other countries, except for member states of the Eurasian Economic Union,”Ayvazyan said.
