YEREVAN, OCTOBER 21, ARMENPRESS: It is difficult to find a person, who does not love Paris, independent of the fact if he was there or not. Having a population of more than 10 million, the city hosts over 28 million visitors annually and the conservation and development of such a giant city requires a special approach. Armenpress tried to clarify how Paris tries to overcome the moderncivilization challenges, talking to the Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Paris Mayor Jean Yves Camus.

- I first came to Armenia in 2009 and the majority of my visits are connected with the festivities devoted to the Capital’s Day. Every time the changes are obvious, carried out in the hard economic situation of the country. It is amazing that under these conditions Armenia makes every effort to develop economically. I noticed these positive changes on the way from the airport to the capital. The improvement of the urban environment immediately caught my eyes. In the streets I began meeting English and French speaking tourists quite often.

- It is not a secret that Armenia has got a great potential to become a big tourist center. Nevertheless, as a person, not familiar to the Armenian letters, I would like to see more signs in the streets showing directions. As sometimes it is hard to understand where you are and how to find this or that monument. Though I cannot but stress about the city’s greening growth. It is very important, taking into account that in 2015 the world will enter the year, which was announced by the UN as the year to battle against climate change. By the way, next year in December Paris will host the World Conference devoted to the decrease of the climate change, where the proposed provisions will become big challenges for the biggest cities of the world.
