Armenian PM considers knowledge to be the base of competitiveness

YEREVAN, AUGUST 9, ARMENPRESS: The first pre-condition of creating competitive Armenia is the formation of economy based on knowledge which is the guarantee of our country’s development. “Armenpress” reports that such opinion expressed Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan during the meeting with campers of “Together” youth movement. In his words in modern quickly changing world people’s outlook, perceptions are changing and the formula of competitiveness receives most important role.

“In order to be considered developed country we must get used quickly to changes which dictate creation of new knowledge by universities and scientific-research centers,” said Prime Minister. In this context he also mentioned that for coming five years one of priorities will be the international accreditation of least five Armenian universities which will secure high-level education.

In his estimation the most negative phenomenon in society is illiteracy. At the same time in he thinks that one of most positive features of Armenian young people is courage. Young people often suggest new ideas, introduce their opinion on different issues.

200 hundred young people take part in fifth annual camp of “Together” youth movement who organize discussions about different events which take palce in our country.
