Armenian President Urges not to burn Hungarian flag

GYUMRI, 4 SEPTEMBER, ARMENPRESS: President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan asked Armenian youth and society not to burn Hungarian flag. President made the statement in Gyumri, answering a question on Armenia’s strong response to Hungarian’s decision on handing Ramil Safarov to Azerbaijan. As Armenpress reports, Armenia’s Leader turned to youth and society: “I want to turn to our society and especially the youth and ask them not to burn Hungarian flag, as the Hungarian flag is not Hungary’s ruling party flag, Hungarian flag is not the symbol of Hungarian PM”. President reminded that Armenians always had very good relations with Hungarians. ”Many sons of Armenian nation had sacrificed their lives for the freedom and independence of Hungary, many of them reached high ranks and had numerous achievements. And a mean action of one man or one party, or one government must not become a base for hostility towards Hungarians; this is what I ask to our public and our youth. Of course, one can express protest, but at that time we mustn’t betray ourselves and our values”, - Armenia’s leader underlined. Talking about the developments on the issue Sargsyan stated that the works are underway and Armenia’s actions are going to be consistent, prudent and sober.
