Armenia capable to implement mega-projects – Pashinyan

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS.  Armenia is capable to implement mega-projects that will be a serious promotion for the economy and Armenia has the potential for funding such projects, ARMENPRESS reports Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said during the annual meeting of the American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia.

He noted that capital expenditures in Armenia have always been accompanied by different institutional problems, but following the developments of 2018 serious changes have occurred, particularly, fight against corruption. The PM emphasized that they are very strict. “Today we see that Armenia is capable to implement mega-projects, that will be a serious promotion for the economy”, Pashinyan said, adding that it’s very important to make the correct decision of particularly which projects will maximally foster Armenia’s economic development. “And now we see that we have the potential for funding those possible mega-projects”, Pashinyan said, adding that issuing new Eurobonds is the best potential. Pashinyan added that Armenia has the opportunity to attract funds also domestically.

Referring to the situation of investments in Armenia in general, Nikol Pashinyan noted that the situation here cannot be assessed as ideal, but the problems of the sphere are in the focus of the Government.
