FM Nalbandian meets with President of Greece in Athens

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS. While on an official visit in Athens Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian on December 13 met with President of Greece Prokopis Pavlopoulos, the foreign ministry told Armenpress.

The Greek President said he is happy to host the foreign minister of friendly Armenia and expressed hope that his visit will contribute to further strengthening the Armenia-Greece ties.

The Armenian FM thanked for the reception and said his visit to Greece is symbolic in the context of the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. He conveyed the greetings and wishes of the Armenian President, as well as the invitation to visit Yerevan.

The Greek President and the Armenian FM expressed satisfaction over the multilayer cooperation between the two countries, stating that the two brotherly peoples are linked with each other by centuries-old friendship and mutual sympathy.

During the meeting the officials exchanged views on deepening the bilateral political dialogue and further intensifying the economic ties.

In the context of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement the Armenian FM introduced the Armenia-EU expanding relations.

FM Nalbandian also introduced the agenda and main topics of the Francophonie Summit which will be held in Yerevan in 2018. The Greek President attached importance to holding the Summit in Yerevan and wished success in its organizational works.

The FM presented to the Greek President the joint efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries aimed at peacefully settling the Karabakh conflict.
