YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 20, ARMENPRESS. Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement is impossible without Stepanakert’s direct participation in talks, “Armenpress” reports Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian told “Ria Novosti”. “In fact, Nagorno Karabakh is involved in the negotiation process, but at the current stage its involvement isn’t in a full format, meaning that there are no direct talks between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan due to the absence of the latter’s wish”, Nalbandian said.

According to the Minister, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs, as well as the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office meet with the leadership of Nagorno Karabakh Republic during their regional visits.

“It’s impossible to reach a settlement without Nagorno Karabakh’s involvement in the process. The mediators understand this well enough and speak about that. The Azerbaijani side just pretends that it does not understand this hiding its head in the sand despite the fact that in all the working documents of the recent years on the development of a comprehensive settlement treaty the issue of Karabakh’s direct participation is clearly raised”, the top diplomat of Armenia said.
