Finance ministry denies “mass job cuts” rumors

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. The ministry of finance denies reports on ongoing mass job cuts in the ministry. Spokesperson of the finance minister Lusine Mkrtchyan told ARMENPRESS the “mass job cuts in the finance ministry” term is far from being true.

“Former deputy minister Armen Gevorgyan is currently the advisor to the minister. At the same time, long-time officials of the ministry have been appointed deputies. Particularly, chief treasurer-deputy minister Atom Janjughazyan has been appointed first deputy finance minister, and the two other newly appointed deputy ministers Karen Tamazyan and Armen Hayrapetyan have both been high ranking officials in the ministry. Therefore “mass cuts” is inappropriate and far from being true”, Mkrtchyan said.
