YEREVAN, OCTOBER 13, ARMENPRESS. Journalist, publicist, translator, President of the Writers’ Union of Armenia (2001-2013) Levon Ananyan would turn 70 years old on October 13.

On the occasion of Levon Ananyan’s birthday, President of the Writers’ Union Edward Militonyan and writer Norayr Adalyan shared their memories with ARMENPRESS.

In the 70’s I worked with Levon Ananyan in the “Garun” magazine. Through interviews with interesting people, Levon was presenting art and the theatrical world to the readers. In the journalistic genre he touched upon issues of concern for the society, stressing the painful sides of happenings. When he became President of the Writers’ Union, the literary life was considerably vivified. Together we were able to to publish the works of modern writers. By Levon Ananyan’s efforts, translation works were boosted in Armenia. I regret that he isn’t with us today”, President of the Writers’ Union Edward Militonyan said.

He was a wonderful, kind and talented person. Levon’s literary activity is very rich. He was a translator, poet, a wonderful publisher. During his time the “Garun” magazine reached great achievements. His works are able to touch people. Levon Ananyan’s untimely death is a great loss for the literary world and personally for me”, Honored Worker of Culture, writer Norayr Adalyan said.
