British journalist dresses as Prince George for a whole week
YEREVAN, AUGUST 25, ARMENPRESS. A man who wore the same clothes as Prince George for a week says that he doesn't feel like a royal after the experience. And although he matched the stylish toddler's outfits as closely as possible, he says he believes that there may be more that draws fans to the tiny royal than just his clothing. Armenpress reports, referring to “Mirror”, that Max Knoblauch took part in the bizarre experiment for Mashable, faithfully recording his outfits and the quizzical reaction he received wearing them in a diary.
The 23-year-old says that he was confident he would turn heads with the look, since Prince George was named the 49th best dressed man in Britain by GQ magazine. Unfortunately, the lack of availability of man-sized toddlers' clothes meant that Max had to work on adding yacht patches and other accoutrements to his clothes.
"I chose to start with the blue sweater George wore during the birth of his sister, Princess Charlotte. What better outfit to symbolise the "birth" of my week as a royal baby?"
A passer-by remarked that it was a warm outfit for the weather, but that was all, bar a colleague calling him "a four-year-old tennis prodigy". The next day Max plumped for dungarees with a boat patch on the front.
"While I got plenty of puzzled looks on my journey, New Yorkers seemed generally pretty uninterested in my project," he records with sadness. On the final day, Max tried out a knitted soldier-patterned tank top, and headed to work: "Wearing George's classic Christmas sweater, expertly sewed by my own hands the night before."
Although he admits the week hasn't given him any epiphanies, the grown man's appearance in the various George outfits are worthy of a laugh.
