Famous footballer Youri Djorkaeff to visit Armenia

YEREVAN, AUGUST 15, ARMENPRESS. French Armenian famous footballer YouriDjorkaeff will visit Armenia early in October to participate in the International Half Marathon, theYerevan RunArm 2015, which will be held in Yerevan for the first time. The press service of theYerevan RunArm 2015 informed “Armenpress’ about this. The famous sportsman stressed that it is a wonderful opportunity to be in Motherland, enjoy capital Yerevan and become part of the amazing sporting event.

“I am happy the legendary Robert Emmiyancomes forward with such an initiative and an International Half Marathon will be held in Yerevan. Such marathons and half-marathons are permanent sporting events throughout the world and I would like it to become an annual event for Yerevan and all Armenians as running is of the first requirements for healthy lifestyle. I accepted the invitation to participate with great enthusiasm and I will be on the first lines of the half-marathon with my brother Dennis Djorkaeff and I call everyone to join us”, stressed the 1988 world champion, and 2000 Europe’s champion Armenian footballer.

The Yerevan RunArm 2015 will be launched on October 3 supported by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Yerevan Municipality, the NationalOlympic CommitteeofArmeniaand the Armenian Athletic Federation.

The RunArm 2015 participation application process was launch on August 11. Each participant will receive a medal once crossed the finish line and can download his certification from this website. The winners will be awarded with monetary prizes.
