Cross stone in memory of 21 freedom fighters unveiled in Barekamavan

TAVUSH, AUGUST 19, ARMENPRESS. A group of MPs, headed by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Galust Sahakyan, as well as the Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan and many guests visited Barekamavan community. As “Armenpress” was informed from the Information Department of Tavush regional administration, the MPs took part in the opening ceremony of the cross stone in the memory of 21 freedom fighters from Barekamavan, martyred for defense of the Motherland.

The event was attended by the entire village. The attendees were greeted by the community leader Gagik Abazyan, and the honor of the opening of the cross stone was assigned to the Speaker of the National Assembly Galust Sahakyan, the Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan and two relatives of the fallen freedom fighters. On that memorable day the Defense Minister awarded medals to a group of freedom fighters. The sculptor of the cross stone is the participant of Artsakh Liberation War, architect Andranik Davtyan.
