YEREVAN, APRIL 30, ARMENPRESS. The exhibition of the works of the French-Armenian artist Jean Kazandjian will open on May 2 at the National Gallery of Armenia. As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Public Relations of the Ministry of Culture, the exhibition will introduce more than fifty works, urban landscapes, Armenian topics, Arshile Gorky's portrait series, migration picture series, as well as icon works (reference to Leonardo da Vinci's "Annunciation" and Michelangelo's "Pieta" works).
Jean Kazandjian’s works of the Paris period are not connected with any direction of art: the artist has chosen a unique visual path to freedom. After settling in Southern California, the surrealism and pop-culture interaction became a distinguishing mark in Kazandjian’s art. By the interpenetration of shadows and contours Kazandjian creates remarkable depth.
Jean Kazandjian’s exhibition will be open till May 24.
