Passenger flow increased by 19% in "Zvartnots" International Airport

YEREVAN, APRIL 4, ARMENPRESS. For the past 6 months there has been observed a regular increase in the number of passengers and flights, this being the result of the “open sky” policy adopted by the Government of the Republic of Armenia. “Armenia International Airports” CJSC informed “Armenpress” that as compared to March 2013, a 19% increase in passenger flow was observed at the “Zvartnots” International Airport of Yerevan in the 3rd month of 2014. In March 2014 the Airport served 122 056 passengers against 102 295 of the past March.

The number of flights in the same period rose by 17%. Instead of the 1295 flights in past March the number of flights operated in March 2014 was 1517.

If 27 airlines operated regular flights to Zvartnots in March 2013, now their number is 33. Also most of the airlines increased frequencies to all destinations, which resulted in reduction of air ticket prices.
