French Foreign Minister discusses threat to Armenia's territorial integrity with US Secretary of State

YEREVAN, 2 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. French Minister of European and Foreign Affairs Stéphane Séjourné has announced concerns about the threat to Armenia's territorial integrity posed by Azerbaijan during a joint press conference with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Paris.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia, Olivier Decottignies, has shared this information on his official X page, posting the full version of Stéphane Séjourné’s speech.

"We have reaffirmed our commitment to the territorial integrity of Armenia, which is now being questioned by Azerbaijan, and let me say how worried we are about that, given that Azerbaijan's rhetoric is getting out of hand," the French Minister of European and Foreign Affairs Stéphane Séjourné said.

Séjourné has expressed concern regarding the increase of the fake news coming from Baku, which tends to assign responsibility for the escalation to Armenia, which today only Armenia wants to avoid.

The French foreign minister says that they see many common elements and similarities with what is happening with Russia and Ukraine calling for attention to this issue six months before COP29 in Baku.
