Armenian National Security Service investigates reports on Wagner fighters allegedly plotting coup

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS. The National Security Service of Armenia is looking into the reports alleging that a large number of Wagner PMC fighters have arrived to Armenia, PM Nikol Pashinyan said on September 13.

Member of Parliament Agnessa Khamoyan from the Hayastan faction asked the Prime Minister to comment on media reports that the Armenian NSS is searching for the Wagner fighters who’ve allegedly arrived to the country.

“Armenian law enforcement agencies must react to media reports. As far as I know, there’s been such a report on Telegram channels. Within its jurisdiction, the NSS is checking the information. There’s nothing unusual here,” the PM said.

Asked whether or not he fears that Russia could organize a revolution in Armenia, the Prime Minister said that only the people can carry out a revolution in Armenia, and the people have already done it.
