Swedish MP Björn Söder calls on Turkey to recognize Armenian Genocide as first step in normalizing relations

YEREVAN, APRIL 24, ARMENPRESS. Swedish Member of Parliament Björn Söder says Turkey should recognize the Armenian Genocide as a first step in normalizing relations with Armenia.

“Turkey must recognize what happened. That would be the first step in normalizing relations with neighboring Armenia. The past must be acknowledged in order to be able to move forward,” Söder, the head of Sweden’s delegation to OSCE PA told ARMENPRESS.

“Any individual discussion or action aimed at preventing or avoiding such crimes is a contribution to the peaceful future of all of us,” he added.
