A group of Artsakh citizens marching to Shushi demand from Russian peacekeepers to restore
the normal traffic
YEREVAN, DECEMBER 23, ARMENPRESS. On December 23, a group of Artsakh residents moved from Stepanakert to Shushi in order to present counter-arguments to the false claims of Azerbaijanis posing as environmentalists who blocked the road connecting Artsakh to Armenia and the outside world. ARMENPRESS reports, they were not allowed to pass through the checkpoint of the Russian peacekeeping troops located on the Stepanakert-Shushi, noting that negotiations are currently underway to open the road, and such initiatives may aggravate the situation. Tigran Petrosyan, one of the participants of the initiative, the chairman of the "Tomorrow’s Artsakh" party, presented the demand of the Artsakh Armenians regarding the immediate opening of the road, noting that, according to the tripartite declaration of November 9, the Russian Federation has committed to ensure uninterrupted and safe traffic through the Lachin Corridor. After that, the citizens of Artsakh participating in the march demanded to restore normal traffic on the road by December 24, otherwise they will return in a larger group to demand a solution to the problem.
